Car Air Conditioning
Air Conditioning in Stockport - Sandy Lane Service Station
How often should I have my car air-conditioning serviced?
At Sandy Lane Service Station, we stock air conditioning gases and recommend a re-gas roughly every 2 years to make sure that your air conditioning not only keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter but, importantly, can effectively demist the windows and keep the windscreen clear so that your visibility is not affected.
At the same time as re-gassing the air conditioning system, we’d recommend using a treatment to remove the bacteria that build up in the system over time and can cause nasty odours. The treatment cleans the air-conditioning system, which will get rid of any smells and will vastly improve the quality of the air in your car.
We offer two types of air conditioning gas: R134a, which is suitable for vehicles manufactured up to and including 2014 and priced at £60 + VAT, and R1234yf, a more environmentally friendly option used in newer vehicles, priced at £120 + VAT.
As part of our service, we remove any old gas from the system and carry out a nitrogen pressure test to check for leaks before re-gassing. This extra step — often skipped by other providers — ensures the system is properly sealed, helps detect any issues early, and enhances overall performance and efficiency.
Sandy Lane Service Station is proud to be affiliated with Bosch, the RAC, IMI, and 1Link, which all promote quality workmanship, fair pricing, and exceptional customer service. We also work with Trust My Garage, Who Can Fix My Car, and Payment Assist to make car and van care easy.
